MORNING PRAYER

As new light streams out of the darkness.
we open wide our hearts
to the healing light of your Encircling Presence.

Open our eyes
to the opportunities this day has to offer.
Surprise us with small joys and pieces of beauty
scattered though the hours ahead.

O Beautiful Presence,
help us this day to taste the joy of  being awake.

May this simple prayer come true
in our lives today!

MAGNIFICAT TO THE GOD OF DAWN

MAGNIFICAT TO THE GOD OF DAWN

My being proclaims the wonders of light
as it slowly penetrates the ebbing darkness.

And my spirit bows to the beauty of the One
who gives life to all that has existence.

Oh vibrant green stems of life sing out
your praise to the Heart who draws you forth

Bird songs rejoicing in the breath of dawn
warble your joy in view of the morning star

Dew drops radiant upon the wetness of grass
give glory to the Wise Creator who sustains you

Flower gardens, rushing streams, silent desert,
sing, sing, for the Dancer who rejoices in your midst

Peoples of the plant, creatures of the universe,
play before the Enlivener who delights in you

And my soul, my soul, rise up and greet this day
with gratitude, in a stance of humble remembering

For all (that) I am, and (for) all (that) I am called to be,
is held in the hands of a Creator
who daily loves me into life.

Corollary Prayer

May we (constantly) see (ourselves and others)
with the same delight, pride and expectation
which God sees (us) every moment.

A SPRING TIME PRAYER

Ever-renewing and energizing Creator,
come, stir my dormant spiritual limbs.

Wake up my tired prayer,
Revive my weary efforts of care.
Sing hope into my discouragement.

Wash my dusty, drab attitude
with the cleansing of your vision.

Go deep to my roots and penetrate my faith
with the vibrancy of your grace.

Shake loose the old leftover oak leaves
of my tenacious ego-centeredness.

Coax joy to sprout from my difficulties.

Warm the buds of my relationships
so they bloom with healthy love.

Clear out my wintered debris
with the wild breeze of your liberating presence.

Nudge me, woo me, entice me, draw me near you.

I give you my trust and my gratitude
as you grace my thawing spirit.

Light-filled being, my Joy and my Hope,
let the greening begin!

LIVING ABUNDANTLY
"I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." - Jn 10:10b

SPIRITUALITY AT WORK
is NOT first and foremost about achieving our goals,
making more money or becoming better managers,
or finding ways to get others to do what we want,
or even about becoming happier,
although any and all of these may and do happen
when soul-making is taken seriously.

WHAT SPIRITUALITY AT WORK
IS ABOUT ABUNDANT LIFE:
living fully into each moment paying attention
to what is happening within us and around us,
understanding what our lives are about
and how we're meant to make a difference
within the larger communities of which we are a part.

It is, finally,
about deciding to act,
to make creative choices
that will move us and our organizations
toward a
DEEPER WHOLENESS.
